Staff Software Engineer / Java / Healthcare

This esteemed insurance risk solutions company is currently in the process of developing a cutting-edge health insurance integration application. They are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join their dynamic team of five software engineers. This represents an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the Healthcare IT sector.

The role is heavily focused on healthcare IT, requiring a deep understanding of industry standards such as FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) and HL7 (Health Level 7). Proficiency in these standards is a critical requirement for success in this position. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in Java development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.

Candidates must be self-motivated, capable of independently managing tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision. The company is seeking a developer who can be trusted to take ownership of assignments and deliver results in a timely and efficient manner.

Required Skills And Experience

• 10+ years in developing high quality software.
• Advanced proficiency with Java, Python, SOAP, RESTful Web Services, MySQL, and AWS.
• Experience with healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and IHE implementations.
• Exposure to security standards such as mTLS, SAML, OAuth 2.0, and JWT.
• Ability to ramp up quickly on both new and existing technologies.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills and Experience

• Continued education and/or advanced degrees.
• AWS certifications.
• Exposure to Java technologies such as Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Gradle.
• Experience with React front-end development.
