Our client, a leading vehicle manufacturer, is looking for an IT Project Manager (Enterprise Technology/Employee Productivity Apps) to join their team remotely in Irvine, CA or Palo Alto, CA!
As part of the Digital Workplace & Solutions, Enterprise Productivity Apps team, you will define, design, and implement the solutions related to employee onboarding & offboarding, custom collaboration experiences, and general solutions to empower better cross-collaboration between teams.
Contract Duration: 12-month contract, this role may convert to FTE so long as there's a business need (must be local to Irvine, CA or Palo Alto, CA for future conversions)
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct vendor conversations to help build and maintain crucial relationships with product suppliers
- Responsible for full life-cycle of projects from initiation to completion on all IT Capabilities related to the buildout if new work or retail spaces.
- Apply IT project management methodology and appropriate project management framework for all projects.
- Develop requests for proposal (RFPs) to engage third party installers.
- Defining the project scope, roles, tasks, milestones, budgets and measures of success
- Developing project estimates and plans to manage the end-to end project execution
- Ensuring business requirements are captured accurately and completely
- Facilitating day-to-day coordination while adhering to standards and sponsor expectations.
- Acting as the link between the assigned project resources and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring project closure including completion of lessons learned and required documentation.
- Use disciplined project management methodology to define scope, develop project plan, and execute projects that adhere to guidelines and deliver within cost and schedule.
- Responsible for tracking project status and managing project issues and risks including:
- Monitoring projects on an ongoing basis, evaluating progress/quality, managing issue resolution
- Managing the process to assess gaps and develop action plans to address these gaps
- Monitoring financial delivery and issue management processes, and escalating issues
- Promoting and monitoring compliance activities with audit and information policies
- Develop robust project risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and commissioning of all projects with no impact to business continuity
- Review action items from the design/construction meetings and follow through with the closure of the action items.
- Manage individual work styles and development of project staff
- Serve as primary contact to Sr department managers for critical change initiatives within a highly matrix environment.
- Work with cross-functional team, contractors, and vendors to deliver critical projects.
- Partner with other stakeholder teams across business units (i.e., sales, engineering, brand/creative, finance, security, compliance) to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way, communicating effectively and efficiently with production, managerial, and executive teams.
- Evaluate, analyze, and communicate systems requirements on a continuing basis and maintain systems processes, including the delivery of monthly status reports to all appropriate parties.
- Author and update internal and external documentation and formally initiate and deliver requirements and documentation.
- Conduct daily systems analytics to maximize effectiveness and troubleshoot problems.
- Develop meaningful and lasting relationships with partners for optimized systems integration and respond to questions and concerns from managers and executives with supporting research and recommendations.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree Preferred)
- 6+ years of relevant experience
- You have hands-on experience streamlining and defining custom solutions, maintenance, and ongoing operational excellence of production systems.
- Experience with RFPs, project deliverables, stakeholder management, etc.
- You will also work cross-functionally, write solid documentation, and thrive in an agile environment.
