Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a dynamic team of engineers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance in line with the company’s objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end development lifecycle, including architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of both front-end and back-end applications.
- Ensure seamless integration of DevOps practices to automate CI/CD pipelines, optimize cloud infrastructure (AWS), and improve deployment processes.
- Serve as a technical advisor to the C-Suite, translating complex technical solutions into business terms and influencing key strategic decisions.
- Establish and maintain development best practices, including code reviews, documentation, and quality assurance protocols.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing technical guidance while empowering team members to grow in their roles.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Marketing, etc.) to define project scopes and timelines and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Act as a technical champion in key client and stakeholder discussions, advocating for scalable solutions while understanding customer needs.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in software development, with an emphasis on full-stack development (frontend and backend technologies).
- Proven DevOps experience, particularly with cloud services like AWS, and the ability to optimize cloud-based infrastructure.
- Strong proficiency in backend development languages such as Java, Next.js, NextUI, Node.js, or Go.
- Experience with backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, Express.js, or Gin.
- Solid understanding of database management systems, including SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, and familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms such as OAuth, JWT, and session management.
- Demonstrated management experience, leading teams of engineers, setting technical direction, and delivering projects on time.
- Ability to understand, write, and review code to ensure team adherence to best practices while spending more time on strategic oversight and team leadership.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies for managing development processes and team collaboration.
- Strong sense of urgency and motivation to drive projects forward, manage risks, and maintain focus on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage, inspire, and motivate a team while balancing the needs of the business.
- Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Previous experience in an equity-based position or startup environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with security best practices and compliance in cloud-based architectures.
- Experience managing on-shore and off-shore teams
Note:
This is a sweat equity position, meaning that the Marketing Lead will receive equity in the company in lieu of a salary initially (might include salary depending on the company’s growth). As such, the successful candidate must be comfortable taking on a high level of risk in exchange for the potential rewards of being part of a successful startup.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $100,429.22 - $120,947.02 per year
