About The Role
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a blend of full-stack development skills and platform engineering expertise to join our remote team. We are looking for engineers who are curious about where AI can meaningfully improve real-world workflows and who enjoy building practical systems that blend software engineering, automation, and emerging AI capabilities. In this role, you will be instrumental in building and scaling the core infrastructure, internal tools, AI platforms, and services that power Monoline’s underwriting and risk assessment platform.
You’ll work across the full stack while driving improvements to our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and internal tooling. A significant portion of this role involves designing and building the internal applications, dashboards, and automated workflows that our operations, underwriting, and support teams rely on daily. This is a high-impact role where you’ll collaborate closely with a dedicated team committed to delivering exceptional, reliable, and scalable systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and evolve the cloud platform infrastructure on AWS and Render, ensuring availability, security, and cost efficiency through infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native architectures.
- Enable continuous delivery by maintaining CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, observability solutions, and other developer tooling.
- Drive operational efficiency through the internal tools strategy: build and iterate on applications, admin panels, and dashboards that empower our engineering, underwriting, and operations teams.
- Implement prompt engineering strategies and AI workflow orchestration using industry-standard AI evaluation tools like LangFuse and LangSmith to measure model performance and optimize outputs.
- Lead code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain quality across the platform.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging AI technologies and evaluation frameworks to continuously enhance our platform's capabilities and underwriting accuracy.
Qualifications
- Senior-level experience in full-stack development with familiarity in Ruby on Rails or similar server-side frameworks.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker), and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data architectures.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD principles.
- Strong grasp of authentication, encryption, and security best practices.
- Empathy for internal users with ability to gather requirements and deliver tools that improve their workflows.
- A deep curiosity around leveraging AI toolkits to improve efficiency, increase velocity, and achieve better business outcomes.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with low-code/no-code platforms (Retool, N8N) for building internal tools, dashboards, and automated workflows.
- Experience designing internal tool architectures that balance speed with maintainability (RBAC, audit logging, platform data integration).
- Experience with prompt engineering and evaluating AI model outputs using tools like LangFuse or LangSmith.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure-as-code, and automated deployment pipelines.
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana).
