Senior Full Stack Engineer (NodeJS + React)

Location: Colombia

About The Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer (NodeJS + React), you’ll own features end-to-end—from technical design through build, test, and deployment—delivering modern React single-page applications and NodeJS microservices/APIs. You’ll work across greenfield and existing systems in a roughly 65/35 frontend-to-backend split, collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering partners to ship high-quality software with a strong focus on maintainability and automated testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and build new user-facing features and complex UI components using React
• Develop and maintain NodeJS microservices and backend APIs with a focus on performance, reliability, and reusability
• Design, build, and support RESTful APIs that integrate cleanly with frontend and downstream services
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure stability and code quality
• Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions for new features and components
• Troubleshoot bugs, identify bottlenecks, and implement sustainable fixes and improvements
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in an agile delivery environment
• Own the full development lifecycle, including occasional setup of CI/CD pipelines for new services
• Other duties as assigned

About You

Qualifications & Skills

• 8+ years of professional software development experience (10+ preferred)
• Strong proficiency building modern frontend applications with React and its ecosystem
• Deep expertise in backend development with NodeJS (or similar), including building services outside of monolithic frameworks
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL, including ORM basics and query knowledge
• Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and orchestration
• Demonstrated commitment to automated testing, including unit and integration test coverage
• High ownership, autonomy, and excellent communication/collaboration skills
• Nice-to-have: Strong SQL proficiency
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Jest (or similar testing frameworks)
• Nice-to-have: Experience with additional backend languages such as Python
