Overview:
We are looking for a highly creative and detail-oriented Print Designer with a strong foundation in editorial and product design to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, low-ceremony environment, brings fresh, non-cookie-cutter ideas to the table, and takes initiative to solve visual challenges with smart, clean design solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Design and layout print materials including workbooks, teacher/editorial materials, packaging, and covers
- Execute photo retouching and reimaging to ensure high-quality visuals
- Ensure designs maintain brand consistency and proper typography standards across materials
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand creative needs and provide proactive design solutions
- Translate print concepts into assets that can be repurposed for digital use (though this role is not focused on digital design)
- Take projects from concept through production with minimal oversight
- Maintain organized files and assets using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
Must-Haves:
- 3+ years of experience in print design, particularly with editorial content, educational materials, and packaging
- Expert-level proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop, including photo retouching
- Strong understanding of typography and layout principles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to take initiative with limited direction
- Portfolio showcasing smart, clean, and creative print work (cover designs, workbooks, etc.)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience working on educational or publishing-related materials
- Adjacent creative work (e.g., illustration, branding, etc.) that shows unique visual style and thinking
- Ability to visualize how printed materials may be adapted for digital asset creation
