About The Role

As a Digital Designer, you will play a pivotal role in creating visually compelling and intuitive user interfaces for our clients' digital commerce platforms. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product leads, and project managers, to translate business requirements and user needs into engaging and user-friendly designs. The ideal candidate has excellent research and problem-solving skills and is passionate about creating compelling customer journeys that help clients deliver relevant and engaging customer experiences that maximize conversions and drive sales. Most importantly, they’ll have an astute ability to articulate and justify their design decisions, whilst drawing on customers and team members to iteratively refine ideas and prototypes.

What You'll Do

• Create e-commerce wireframes, prototypes, and mobile-first visual design mockups that effectively communicate design concepts and interaction flows.
• Document intended functionality, behaviours and interactions in collaboration with the project team to produce a technical specification.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients and internal teams, to gather requirements, provide design recommendations, and present design concepts and deliverables.
• Conduct design reviews and gather feedback to refine designs and ensure they meet client expectations and project goals.
• Proactively pushing the level of quality in both thinking and execution.
• Maintain organized files and documentation of design assets, ensuring they are easily accessible and usable by other team members.
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of design templates and libraries to streamline the design process and improve efficiency.
• Presenting your work to clients alongside the Product Lead, explaining user journeys to multiple stakeholders.
• Develop pixel-perfect UI designs that align with brand guidelines and enhance the user experience.
• Conduct user research and usability testing, and gather feedback to iterate and refine UI designs.
• Ensure consistency and maintain design standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Work closely with development teams to provide design assets, style guides, and specifications for implementation.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging design patterns, and best practices to continuously enhance UI design processes.
• Collaborate with the broader design team to share knowledge, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to a culture of design excellence.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality designs within project timelines and budget constraints.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create visually compelling and cohesive designs across various digital and print assets, such as banners, social media graphics, promotional materials, and email campaigns.

Skills & Experience

We value continuous feedback, learning, and growth within a transparent, accountable, and positive culture. The ideal candidate would possess the following:

• 3+ years of experience as a Digital Designer or a similar role
• A strong portfolio showcasing successful UX/UI design projects.
• Expert knowledge of Figma.
• Very strong written and spoken communication skills, both in French and English.
• Strong knowledge of UX/UI with experience in wireframing customer journeys, prototyping and user testing.
• Experience designing e-commerce websites and a good understanding of common e-commerce UX patterns.
• Experience in product design and creating design systems.
• Solid understanding of cross-browser, SEO, accessibility and usability design for the web.
• Pixel-perfect attention to detail and a sense of pride and ownership over quality.
• Keen interest in e-commerce.
• Organized and have excellent attention to detail.
• Passionate about all things tech, digital and design.
• Comfortable with the concept of change and working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients.
• Experience with Shopify or a similar e-commerce platform is advantageous.
• Relevant experience in an agency is a plus.
• Although this is not a development role, knowledge of LIQUID (Shopify's templating language) and front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) would be a bonus.
