Director of Professional Learning Design – K–12 EdTech
Location: Remote (U.S.-based)
Travel: Up to 20% | Full-Time
Are you a strategic leader passionate about transforming professional learning for K–12 educators? A leading EdTech company is seeking a Director of Professional Learning Design to drive the vision, strategy, and execution of impactful educator training programs.
This role leads a dynamic team of instructional designers and trainers, shaping scalable learning solutions that empower teachers, enhance district partnerships, and support successful product adoption.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the strategy and execution of professional learning programs aligned to company goals and educator needs
- Oversee the development of innovative training experiences—including workshops, coaching, webinars, and blended formats
- Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of instructional designers and learning specialists
- Align learning solutions with K–12 instructional practices, district priorities, and evolving education trends
- Collaborate with internal teams (product, marketing, customer success) to integrate learning into broader initiatives
- Ensure high-quality, scalable delivery processes for all training formats
- Use data and feedback to continuously improve program impact and educator outcomes
- Build relationships with district leaders to stay responsive to customer needs
- Provide subject matter leadership in literacy (especially K–5), the Science of Reading, and English Language instruction
- Lead new product training design to support adoption and sustained implementation
- Stay current on educational policy, standards, and instructional best practices
- Perform other leadership duties as required
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in professional learning, education leadership, or instructional design
- Proven success leading high-performing teams and developing large-scale learning initiatives
- Deep understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models
- Experience with educational technology platforms and LMS systems
- Familiarity with K–12 standards, curriculum frameworks, and professional development best practices
- Knowledge of effective literacy practices, especially in early grades and EL instruction
- Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Data-driven mindset with experience evaluating program effectiveness and ROI
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools
