About the role
We’re hiring a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to develop control systems for modern power devices that improve grid flexibility and visibility. From electric vehicle chargers to photovoltaic inverters, your work will directly impact energy stability and decarbonization efforts. Responsabilities
- Design and develop embedded control systems for power devices
- Work on systems like PV inverters, heat pump devices, EV charging stations, battery charging, and substation meters
- Write and optimize C/C++ code for reliable and efficient operation
- Ensure compliance with grid regulation standards (e.g., G100)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align control design with energy and operational goals
- Test, validate, and document software for deployment in real-world power environments
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or relatedfield
- 5+ years work experience as a software engineer
- 3+ years of experience in embedded systems and power device control
- Strong in C/C++ programming, software optimization, and debugging
- Familiarity with power control principles across devices such as inverters, chargers, and meters
- Solid analytical skills for system diagnosis and performance tuning
- Great communication and teamwork—can work across disciplines and tech stacks
- Experience with Agile development is a bonus
🎓 Preferred Qualifications
- Deep knowledge of grid flexibility, grid visibility, and G100 regulations
- Prior work on energy systems, renewable power control, or smart grid infrastructure
- Ability to manage multiple technical tasks and prioritize under tight timelines
💰 Compensation
- Your compensation will be tied to company performance, with significant upside potential beyond base salary
- Competitive Base Salary: $120K – $145K CAD annually
