About Minutia.AI
We are a company operating at the interface between artificial intelligence and microbiome science. We develop computational models of how microbes in our gut operate and interact with one another, which are then used to predict health status, disease progression and nutritional intervention effectiveness. We have a dynamic and interdisciplinary team composed of computer scientists, physicists, bioinformatics, microbiologists and immunologists.
The Role in a Nutshell
As a Full-Stack Software Engineer, you'll play a key role in building robust, scalable digital infrastructure to support our expanding customer-facing platforms. Your responsibilities will span broadly across backend and frontend development, cloud deployment, and automation, in a rapidly evolving production environment. The role is fully remote interfacing with teams in South-East Asia and CET timezones and will be based on a 6-12 month contract with the intention to extend it further.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with a team of computational scientists and biologists to translate functional and UX requirements into web platforms.
- Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications for production systems, including the development of associate APIs.
- Write clean, testable code and ensure quality through effective testing strategies and automation.
- Automate deployment pipelines and support infrastructure scalability using cloud-native DevOps practices.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of software that is resilient, extensible, and easy to maintain.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience developing scalable software systems.
- Strong programming skills in Python (with Django/DRF) and frontend experience using React JS and/or Vue.js.
- Experience in designing and managing PostgreSQL databases.
- Proficient in software architecture, design patterns, ETL, data structures, and core algorithm principles.
- Demonstrated experience in building RESTful APIs and web-based UIs.
- Familiarity with the full SDLC, from requirement analysis to deployment and support.
- Strong grasp of test-driven development and use of tools such as JUnit or TestNG for Java, and pytest or unittest for Python.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code for cloud deployment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with serverless applications, cloud functions, or microservices deployment.
- Experience with Docker or other container orchestration tools.
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with Microservices might be needed in the long term.
- Knowledge of message queues systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
- Exposure to NoSQL solutions such as MongoDB.
- Experience in Java back-end development (Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven).
- Strong Interest in health data and precision nutrition science and application.
