About Minoan
Minoan is redefining how people discover and buy products through what we call Native Retail — the idea that the best way to experience a product is in the wild, in the spaces where it actually lives.
We've built a free all-in-one purchasing platform that lets vacation rental hosts, property managers, and interior designers furnish beautifully, save money through exclusive brand discounts, and turn their spaces into shoppable experiences for guests.
We're a lean, high-ownership team working at the intersection of commerce, hospitality, and design. If you've ever fallen in love with a hotel's mattress or your Airbnb's coffee maker, you've already felt what we're building toward.
The Role
We're looking for a Product Designer to own projects end-to-end — from fuzzy problem to shipped feature. You'll partner closely with our PMs and Engineering team to work on our client-facing platform where hosts and property managers discover, order, and manage furnishings across 150+ partner brands.
You'll do the research, understand the problem and potential impact, build the prototypes, and see work through to production quality. You'll also bring a point of view — not only on the user but also on the business, on what "good" looks like — and advocate for it clearly with your team.
What You'll Do
- Own projects end-to-end: from discovery through delivery, including scoping, research, interaction design, visual design, handoff, and QA
- Translate complex workflows into clear, elegant interfaces: especially around purchasing flows, catalog browsing, and order management
- Build rapid prototypes using AI-assisted tools to explore ideas quickly and create artifacts concrete enough to gather real feedback from stakeholders
- Collaborate daily with the Product Manager and Engineers, participating in scoping, sprint planning, and design reviews
- Contribute to and maintain our design system, ensuring consistency across the platform
- Run lightweight user research: identify pain points, validate solutions, bring real signal into the design process
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3–5 years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating shipped work on digital products
- Strong interaction design fundamentals — you think in flows, not just screens
- Proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, and prototyping
- Comfort working in ambiguity and early-stage problem spaces
- Clear, confident communication — you can explain why a design decision, not just what it is
Nice to have:
- Experience designing for e-commerce, marketplace, or B2B SaaS products
- Familiarity with building or maintaining a design system
- Exposure to working on both mobile and desktop surfaces
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design and prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) or strong curiosity to develop this skill fast
What Makes This Role Different
- High ownership, small team. You won't be one of 30 designers. You'll own a real piece of the product with meaningful impact.
- Design that moves. We iterate fast and ship often. We prototype early — often with AI tools — to get real feedback before investing in polish. You'll see your work in production quickly.
- A design-literate team. Our Head of UX & Design, Senior Product Designer, and PM all care deeply about craft and outcomes. You'll be challenged and pushed to grow.
- A genuinely interesting problem space. Native Retail is a new category. The UX problems we're solving around discovery, catalog complexity, and order accuracy — don't have obvious templates.
