Data Scientist (GIS)

Education & Invention:

• Advanced technical degree (Ph.D. or equivalent experience mandatory)
• Publishing novel research in journals and conferences
• Patents (including delivery of patented solution)

Technical:

• Excellent coding skills that include production software deployment
• Data engineering, ML modelling, & decision science with terabyte or petabyte level data sources
• Experience (concept to production) developing and deploying novel machine learning solutions
• MLOps workflows with tools like AWS services (IAM, Lambda, S3, MLFlow), Databricks, or related.
• Building productionized workflows involving large and disparate data sources (e.g. images, rasters, parquet, time-series, geo-tagged, text, and other unstructured data)
• Building real-time & interactive dashboards involving spatiotemporal/GIS visualization tools (e.g. Folium, Plotly), and labelling systems like Super Annotate, Label box, Voxel51.
• Debugging complex hardware & software systems, and associated data issues

Communication & Leadership:

• Influencing without authority, building rapport, persuading key collaborators, communicating progress/recommendations/methods/insights to stakeholders (e.g. product & delivery managers)
• Scoping work & setting priorities, leading brainstorming sessions & proof of concept studies, organizing teams in an Agile style delivery environment, & executing with consistency
• Define, quantify, and analyze key performance and customer value Indicators/metrics to support successful outcomes.
