Description

Millennial Software is seeking a part-time, team-oriented UI/UX Designer to join our dynamic development team in creating a product interface in support of a Government customer. The UI/UX designer will collaborate with developers and stakeholders (operators, product managers and executives) to design user-friendly interfaces and implement them.

Essential Functions

• Research user habit and issues, conduct surveys to inform design decisions and create user stories
• Reduce user pain points, simplify design elements, write content in plain language
• Create wireframe mockups and prototypes of the product interfaces utilizing best practices to ensure maximum usability
• Create interface elements such as menus, tabs, and other fields using design templates and UI Libraries
• Testing and troubleshooting user experience issues
• Collaborate with Business Team to incorporate business needs into the design
• Develop style guide
• Design common component libraries

Requirements

Minimum Skills Required:

• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
• Experience with projects that have been written in Angular 2+
• Expertise in wireframe tasks and tools
• Aware of design trends, best practices, and tools
• Skilled in VISIO, InVision, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Sketch, and others
• In-depth knowledge of common coding languages like HTML, XML, JavaScript, and others

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• 5+ years' experience as a UI/UX expert supporting projects with complex user interfaces
• 508 compliance testing and design
• Experience with AWS
• Experience working in GitLab
• Experience using Jira, Confluence
• Experience with ASTRO UXDS, including familiarity with its design system, components, and accessibility standards
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline

Salary Description

$30.00 - $50.00 an hour
