We compressed 100,000 study hours into the world’s best beginner courses, worth years of university classes. We also made flashcards FUN again: Create them from ANY streaming AND web content you enjoy so they’re maximally relevant to your interests and study goals.
With a list of over 300 insanely useful products and features, we keep Migaku constantly evolving through biweekly updates. Built with care by our 10+ product team, this is the underground breakthrough in learning languages, and we’re shooting for Duolingo’s throne.
Role Overview
We're now hiring a talented Senior Growth Web Designer to craft stunning, high-conversion product websites and landing pages. You’re a true conversion artist who knows how to drive user dopamine and subscriptions by creating visually captivating and conversion-focused designs that reflect our brand's passionate, learner-centric character.
You excel at finding creative ways to showcase our powerful product and educate users on its many features. You also expertly manage to display complex information, e.g. technical documentation in extreme cases, in easy-to-understand and visually appealing formats. You also understand the ingredients of modern brand design and are able to evolve our brand when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Design the sleekest website on the planet while safeguarding a growth-focussed conversion mindset at all times to achieve business goals of the highest order
- Know how to emotionally hook users at the right time with the right piece of visual information to make them advance to the next step in the funnel
- Creatively showcase our powerful product in easy-to-understand ways to convince users to purchase
- You may Improve on our brand design to keep it evolving and fresh, as website and brand are interconnected
- Don’t accept compromises on engaging and immersive design when it counts: For the right moments, make our website feel like the user stepped into a Hollywood movie
- At the same time, don’t be afraid to test landing page concepts with low fidelity designs first to find out what works, then expand on your findings with a polished design
- Balance exquisite visual impact e.g. wide open immersive header sections or product showcases with information-rich functional pages e.g. easy-to-read FAQ or well laid out technical documentation in extreme cases
- Masterful ability to use typography to create compelling reading experiences, e.g. for blog article pages
- Be aware of modern web technologies to leverage effects and trends when the results justify the effort
- Use a finely tuned balance of instincts and data-driven insights instead of relying too heavily on one or the other
- Collaborate and lead internal and external design resources, e.g. illustrators, to support your process
- Design with performance, page load speed, and search engine visibility in mind
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience A/B testing to validate assumptions and to iterate on your initial designs is required
- Proven track record of designing websites that proved to be both ultra high converting, maximally engaging, and informative/educational is required
- Understanding the ingredients of effective branding is required
- Understanding the ingredients of impactful copywriting is required
- Being able to scout top talent, e.g. designers and illustrators, and onboard them onto our team either part-time or full-time is a big plus
