About the Role

We’re seeking a Staff Software Engineer with 6+ years of experience in full-stack software development, including 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity. You’ll play a key role in designing, building, and scaling systems that power meaningful digital experiences.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll drive technical direction, mentor engineers, and work cross-functionally to deliver robust, scalable products. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced startup environments and has a passion for creating products that deepen human connection.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and delegate effectively within projects to ensure quality and timely delivery.
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable code, with a focus on production stability and scalability.
• Translate complex requirements into actionable technical plans, identifying risks and ensuring high development standards.
• Manage technical roadmaps, backlogs, and debt while collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives.
• Mentor engineers and facilitate cross-team knowledge sharing.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements across multiple systems and services.
• Conduct detailed code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Drive architectural discussions through the RFC process and enhance tooling, performance, and security across the platform.

Who You Are

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years leading projects or technical initiatives in cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience shipping production-grade applications at scale.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Background in startup or high-growth environments preferred.

• Backend: TypeScript, Node.js, Express, PNPM
• Database & ORM: PostgreSQL, Prisma

• Messaging & Monitoring: Kafka, OpenTelemetry, SigNoz
• APIs & Frameworks: GraphQL, Apollo
• CMS: Payload CMS
