Your Role

This is not your traditional System Engineer role, as a DevOps Engineer you will be involved in complex problem solving, creating and improving procedures and processes, and ensuring the platform meet the security, capacity, performance and reliability requirements of the organisation. You will be a Software Engineer at heart and more than comfortable picking up and working with programming languages to deliver solutions.

As the DevOps Engineer you will be a key contributor in the DevOps team. You will share the responsibility for the overall health, performance and durability of our operational systems.

• Guide and drive the long-term evolution of the eCommerce platform through research, experimentation and implementation of emerging technologies
• Be actively involved in and drive platform design and deployment activities
• Understand and actively contribute to the application codebase
• Participate in the on-call roster and be able to resolve issues pragmatically

About you

As an experienced DevOps Engineer you will have proven experience supporting complex transactional systems with the ability to tune and test all facets of the request pipeline.

You will also have;

• Ample proven commercial experience implementing and maintaining Linux systems with best practice DevOps tooling and approaches
• Excellent understanding of CI/CD practices and the ability to develop and support the pipelines that deliver them
• Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies and processes along with the ability to implement them during platform iterations
• Expertise across system administration and development
• A very strong passion and understanding of Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps in a digital environment
• Good collaboration and communications skills and above all you will be committed, motivated and friendly!

• Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt, etc.
• Magento 1, Magento 2
• MySQL, PHP, Go, Javascript, Prometheus, Grafana
• Linux, entos, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Vagrant
