Freelance Gig: Social Media Consultant (2-Week Strategy + Systems Project)
MHG Events is hiring a freelance Social Media Consultant for a focused, 2-week engagement to overhaul both the strategy and backend systems of our social media across multiple brands.
We run some of NYC’s top food and culture brands — including festivals, food halls, and lifestyle platforms — and we need someone who can build a full 360° plan, covering both external presence and internal flow.
Scope of Work (Must Be Delivered Within 2 Weeks):
– Conduct full audit of current platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook) across 5+ brands
– Deliver platform-specific strategies: tone, content mix, cadence, community building, and growth
– Recommend backend structure: team workflows, approval processes, asset management, posting schedules
– Map out deliverables: what should be posted, by who, how often, and through what tools
– Identify gaps in execution and suggest plug-and-play solutions (roles, freelancers, tools)
– Provide 2 short check-ins during implementation phase
This role is strategy-heavy but action-driven. If we like how you work, we’ll explore a monthly retainer for ongoing support.
What You Bring:
– Proven experience creating and implementing full-stack social strategies (content + operations)
– Experience with food, culture, events, or lifestyle brands preferred
– Comfortable working across multiple voices and visual identities
– Fluent in Asana, Airtable, Slack, Canva, Meta tools, etc.
– Bonus: Knowledge of newsletter workflows, content calendars, or paid social strategy
