Marketing Analytics Engineer
MetricMaven is seeking a talented Marketing Analytics Engineer to join our growing data consultancy. We specialize in helping agencies and eCommerce brands transform their marketing data into actionable insights.
About the Role
As a Marketing Analytics Engineer, you'll work directly with our diverse portfolio of clients to build robust data infrastructure and create compelling visualizations that drive marketing decisions. This is a part-time, fully remote position perfect for someone who wants to work with multiple clients and tackle varied technical challenges.
What You'll Do
- Implement tracking solutions: Deploy and manage tags across Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, and other marketing platforms to ensure accurate data collection
- Build data models: Design and develop clean, scalable data models in dbt that transform raw marketing data into analytics-ready datasets
- Create dashboards: Build intuitive, actionable reports and dashboards in Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau that tell the story behind the numbers
- Collaborate with clients: Work closely with agency teams and brand marketers to understand their needs and translate business questions into technical solutions
- Ensure data quality: Audit tracking implementations and validate data accuracy across the analytics stack
Who You Are
- Experienced: 1-3 years working in marketing analytics, preferably at an agency or eCommerce brand
- Technical: Comfortable with SQL, data modeling concepts, and modern analytics tools
- Marketing-savvy: You understand key marketing metrics (CAC, ROAS, LTV, attribution) and can speak the language of marketers
- Detail-oriented: You catch the small things that others miss and take pride in accurate, reliable data
- Self-directed: You can manage your time effectively and communicate proactively with clients
Technical Skills
Required:
- SQL and data modeling experience
- Experience with dbt or similar transformation tools
- Proficiency in at least one BI tool (Looker Studio, Power BI, or Tableau)
- Hands-on experience with tag management (Google Tag Manager preferred)
- Understanding of marketing analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Meta Ads, etc.)
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with Python for data analysis and ETL
- Knowledge of eCommerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, etc.)
- Understanding of server-side tracking and data warehousing
This is a contract position with competitive hourly compensation based on experience.
