The Role
We’re seeking a Director of Marketing to lead global marketing strategy, shape brand identity, and drive demand generation across pharma, biotech, CRO, and academic markets. This is a highly visible role for a strategic, science-driven marketing leader who can translate complex biological innovation into a clear, compelling narrative.
You’ll partner with R&D, commercial, and executive teams to position the company as a thought leader in human-relevant research and scale its commercial reach globally.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Brand Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and commercial targets.
- Build a strong, differentiated brand that highlights the company’s scientific and technological edge.
Content & Thought Leadership
- Oversee creation of technical and marketing content; white papers, webinars, case studies, and scientific materials; that establish credibility with the R&D community.
- Manage storytelling across multiple channels to elevate brand visibility.
Product & Digital Marketing
- Partner with cross-functional teams to craft data-driven product marketing campaigns and launch new offerings.
- Lead digital initiatives across web, SEO/SEM, email, and social channels to drive engagement and qualified leads.
Events & Conferences
- Plan and execute company presence at key scientific meetings and industry conferences.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging and high-quality interactions with customers and prospects.
Data & Team Development
- Define and track key marketing KPIs; use insights to refine strategy and report results to leadership.
- Build, mentor, and manage a small but high-performing marketing team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or Life Sciences (Biology, Bioengineering, etc.).
- 7+ years of marketing experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience marketing scientific or technical products within biotech, pharma, or life sciences tools.
- Strong track record in B2B marketing, demand generation, and scientific content creation.
- Proficiency with digital marketing tools and CRMs (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics).
Preferred:
- Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD) in a scientific or business discipline.
- Experience in a fast-paced, growth-stage company.
- Familiarity with both upstream (strategic) and downstream (tactical) marketing.
