Senior Product Designer

MetLife Legal Plans is currently hiring a Product Designer III for our Strategy & Product Development team.

This position will be fully remote. The ideal candidate may be located anywhere in the continental United States.

This individual will report directly into our Design Team Lead.

A day in the life of a Product Designer III at MetLife Legal Plans:

We are seeking an experienced Product Designer specializing in enterprise systems to elevate our accounts payable and receivable experiences. The ideal candidate will lead end-to-end design processes and transform user experiences across our organization’s enterprise applications and internal systems.

This strategic role demands expertise in user-centered design principles, deep understanding of enterprise workflows, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into intuitive user experiences. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams – including product management, engineering, and key stakeholders – to create sophisticated interfaces, streamline workflows, and drive adoption of critical enterprise systems including ERP, HRIS, and financial platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

User Research & Strategic Analysis:

• Conduct comprehensive user research, stakeholder interviews, and usability testing to identify pain points and system inefficiencies
• Analyze complex workflows, business processes, and system interactions to uncover opportunities for experience enhancement
• Develop detailed user personas, journey maps, and task flows to inform strategic design decisions

UX Design & Prototyping:

• Design intuitive, accessible, and scalable interfaces that balance sophistication with usability.
• Create high-fidelity wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using Figma
• Maintain design consistency with corporate branding guidelines and enterprise design standards
• Champion cohesive UI patterns across internal platforms to enhance usability and operational efficiency

Collaboration & Implementation:

• Partner with development teams and system administrators to implement elegant design solutions
• Engage with business units to gather requirements and ensure design solutions advance business objectives
• Facilitate design reviews and conduct usability testing to validate improvements before deployment

Optimization & Accessibility:

• Ensure all enterprise applications adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG, Section 508)
• Implement analytics to monitor user behavior and system performance for continuous refinement
• Stay at the forefront of enterprise UX best practices, emerging technologies, and industry innovations

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of UX design experience, with demonstrated expertise in enterprise or SaaS environments
• Exceptional portfolio showcasing user research, information architecture, wireframes, prototypes, and user flows
• Advanced proficiency in Figma and Figjam
• Proven experience with enterprise platforms (e.g., SAP, Workday, Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, ServiceNow)
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and front-end development principles
• Experience with agile methodologies and cross-functional team collaboration
• Experience working in a company with strong brand presence, and working successfully within a design system

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in data visualization and dashboard design for enterprise applications
• Knowledge of enterprise security, compliance, and usability best practices
• Experience in service design
• Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field

Travel: This position requires up to 5% travel.
