Job Description – Senior Software Engineer / Tech Lead - Backend (Remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer/Tech Lead to architect and deliver high-performance, scalable backend systems in a fully remote capacity. You will lead technical discussions, optimize AWS infrastructure, and ensure robust API integrations while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS (DynamoDB, Aurora, EKS).
• Architect RESTful/GraphQL APIs and integrate with external systems (e.g., HR data platforms).
• Implement infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Enforce security best practices (e.g., Active Directory integration, data encryption).
• Lead Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring CI/CD pipelines are efficient and reliable.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize cloud costs.

Technical Requirements

• 5–9 years of backend development with Node.js/TypeScript.
• 2+ years of hands-on AWS (DynamoDB, Aurora, S3, EKS) and Kubernetes.
• Expertise in API design, Terraform, and Git.
• Experience with HR data systems and security protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s in Computer Science (preferably from a top-tier institution).
• AWS/Kubernetes certifications.
