Full-Stack JavaScript Engineer (Technical Lead – Remote, UK Hours)

MedCamps is a rapidly growing start-up providing accessible digital tools to help students prepare for medical, dental, and veterinary school admissions. We’re hiring a full-time Full-Stack JavaScript Engineer to serve as our technical lead and sole developer.

Role Overview

• Full-time / long-term contract, remote, permanent
• 45 hours/week on average
• Core hours: 9AM–5PM UK time, Monday–Friday
• Additional 5 hours flexibly over the weekend for urgent support
• Work directly with company directors and international medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain, optimise, and improve the existing platform
• Handle tech-related support tickets
• Lead development of new features and products
• Monitor uptime, resolve issues, and fix urgent bugs
• Collaborate on roadmaps and meet defined KPIs

Frontend: Next.js 14, React 18, TypeScript 5.3

Styling: Tailwind CSS v4, Radix UI, shadcn/ui

State Management: TanStack Query, Zustand, React Hook Form, Zod

Backend & Database: Supabase (including SSR auth, RLS, Realtime/WebSockets)

Third-Party Tools: Stripe, Resend, Groq/OpenAI

Infrastructure: Vercel

Developer Tools: Jest, Playwright, ESLint, Node.js, npm

You should be able to work independently, debug quickly, build scalable features, and maintain strong security and documentation practices.
