About the role
As a Senior Data Scientist in our shipbroking company, you’ll help shape the next generation of demand, supply, and price forecasting models. In this role, you will combine advanced data science with market understanding to build models that support commercial decisions, strengthen market insights, and create value for both the business and our clients.
We're looking for someone who spots opportunities in data before others do and is curious about what data science and emerging technologies can add to how we understand and forecast shipping markets.
The position sits in the Data & Analytics team where we work closely with stakeholders to understand the complexity of the shipping market and strive to build models that are both technically strong and commercially impactful. It's in our DNA to support talent in thriving and to act quickly on opportunities. We welcome you to bring your ideas and play a key role in shaping our analytics foundation.
You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across commercial and analytical teams, working with Python, SQL, git/GitHub, OpenAI, Power BI, and modelling techniques including OLS, ridge/lasso, ARIMA, prophet, TFT, and xgboost.
You will be a great fit if you
Have experience in forecasting, predictive modelling, and working with complex data sets. You move comfortably between technical depth and business dialogue, and you know how to turn open-ended questions into structured analytical work. You want real impact on the ML foundation we're building, on identifying new business cases, and on raising the bar for analytics best practice. You work independently, take initiative, and act on your ideas. There is not far from thought to action with you, and you get motivated by finding solutions to complex challenges.
Experience from shipping, logistics, commodities, or other market-driven industries is an advantage, but curiosity about how global markets work and a willingness to learn the domain matters just as much.
