Product:

We are building a community-based intelligent educational marketplace of marketplaces…essentially a hub for personalizing learning and educational communities. We have been told by our focus groups that MatchED is like combining Facebook, Amazon, and Band for education. Our initial target markets include homeschooling, micro schooling, and parents searching for supplementary resources for their children.

After completing a comprehensive 1.0 beta phase, and receiving incredible market feedback from vendors, members and group leaders, MatchED is in an exciting moment. We are moving past the initial “product market fit” start-up phase and are now ramping up our team and infrastructure for substantial scale.

By bridging the gap between unique learning needs and tailored solutions, MatchED empowers families and professionals to provide the best educational experiences for children.

Role Description:

We are taking the steps to build our internal team of software engineers. The team will be led by our Advisory Board members who will be providing Fractional CTO support to manage this new role. This first role will be focused on refactoring and building onto our 1.0 backend code base leveraging Claude’s Enterprise Coding platform. The front-end design and coding is nearing completion and our Fractional CTO has begun the refactoring and building process. This role will add the necessary capacity to finish the 2.0 build, as well as provide ongoing support and new feature additions as we go live. The role is open for immediate hire, and we are open to flexible work environments as well as hours for the right candidate. Compensation packages will align with the qualifications and role preferences of the chosen candidate.

Qualifications

• Full-stack JavaScript/TypeScript with REST and GraphQL APIs
• React Native for cross-platform web and mobile development
• Deep SQL skills across 150+ database tables
• Native app build and release experience (App Store, Google Play, code signing, OTA updates)
• Cross-platform push notifications with APNS, FCM, and permission handling
• TDD practitioner who writes tests first and takes code quality seriously
• Hands-on experience with AI coding tools like Claude Code in real production workflows
• Familiarity with recommendation systems, social platforms, or marketplace products is a plus
• CI/CD, crash reporting, and observability across the full deployment lifecycle
• Demonstrated expertise equivalent to 8+ years
