Fullstack Developer - Java, React, AWS

About the role:

The Senior Full Stack Engineer role sits at the intersection of product, development and platform. As a software engineer at Martian Logic, your core accountability is collaborating with your team on the design and development of new solutions leveraging existing frameworks and platform components, to ensure you have a viable approach in place to meet our delivery and quality objectives. You will be an active contributor and expected to be a key player in the delivery of initiatives as well contributing to engineering improvement strategies and approaches in collaboration with others in the engineering team. You understand that the art of software development and systems design is constantly evolving and that it is key to stay abreast of developments in the industry to remain relevant.

You understand that there’s no such thing as perfect and know how to deal with this in practice. You have a pragmatic approach to solutions. You believe in small incremental changes, shipped daily to production.

About your experience:

To be successful in the role we think that you have the following skills and experience:

• 5+ years of experience designing, developing and debugging complex software systems within a Microservices architecture
• Implemented containerised distributed systems
• Constantly striving to solve problems effectively and always looking for opportunities to improve
• Can communicate complex concepts in a clear precise way
• Experience in Core Java/EE and Javascript/React, plus related frameworks
• Experience with Spring Boot, REST, SOAP, Tomcat, Wildfly
• Experience in SQL databases design and optimisation
• Experience with APIs and Microservices within the AWS ecosystem
• Experience with either Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
• Skills in building and maintaining well structured, testable code
• Skills in modern software development techniques, design and architectural patterns and best coding practices
• Understanding of how to build robust, performant, scalable web applications and API’s
• Understanding of automated testing strategies and when best to apply them in the delivery lifecycle
• Understanding of DevOps principals, containerisation and Infrastructure as Code
• Always into continuous improvement and learning

Remuneration: We pay our engineers well above market rate and in return, we expect high performance, commitment and ownership of the platform. Based on experience, we're offering the following package for this role:

• Base: $150K to $180K / annum + Super
• Bonus: Quarterly Bonuses of $7.5K / quarter ($30K pa)
• Yearly Salary Review: Your salary will be reviewed every year
