Marketing Automation Architect (Part-Time Contractor)

Marketecs is seeking a strategic and technically skilled Marketing Automation Architect to join our virtual team. Could be either an employee position (if applicant is located in Maine) or a contractor position. This role will be starting primarily as a marketing automation specialist focused on HighLevel.
The position will most likely grow over time depending on the strengths of the individual, but is estimated to start at just 5-10 hours per week.
This role is designed for a systems thinker who thrives on building and optimizing marketing automation across platforms, with a focus on integrating AI and advanced tools to improve client outcomes.
As a member of our small but mighty team, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing, configuring, and optimizing client automation workflows, primarily within HighLevel (GoHighLevel) or as a part of HighLevel migrations, but also extending to platforms like n8n and other marketing ops systems. Requirements, candidates MUST have:
- Reliable, high-speed Internet
- A reliable computer
- A smart phone
- Familiarity with the HighLevel platform
- Experience building and managing advanced marketing automation systems and CRM workflows
- At least 2 hours of availability each day during normal business hours
- Ability to work independently and have excellent time management skills
- Excellent, timely written and verbal communication skills, and be comfortable communicating with both team members and clients directly
- An overall interest and tech savvy with marketing automation and AI
Expectations, a GOOD candidate will:
- Enjoy working with clients to brainstorm, create, and execute marketing and sales funnels
- Not be afraid to ask questions, while also being resourceful and willing to research and find answers when necessary
- Have experience working with the major marketing automation platforms, specifically HighLevel, but also Hubspot, Keap, ActiveCampaign, etc...
- Have an excellent grasp of integrations and automation tech stacks, and a keen eye for details
- Appreciate and embrace the flexibility of the position, being open to a variety of tasks, clients, and styles of work
- Appreciate and embrace the variety of technology, and be open to always learning new programs, platforms, and skills
- Have an innate interest in HighLevel and automation trends, and a desire to stay up-to-date
- Have good judgment when it comes to new tech and software, and be able to make quick corrections when necessary
- Be able to receive feedback, and even criticism, from both team members and clients while maintaining a positive attitude and a spirit of learning
- Be proficient in standard Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive programs, and Zoom
Preferences, an EXCELLENT candidate will:
- Be HighLevel certified
- Have managed HighLevel accounts or held a marketing ops position for 3+ years
- Have worked on a remote team for 3+ years
- Find AI and automation news interesting, and consistently utilize new info to optimize campaigns and make recommendations
- Have experience migrating accounts to HighLevel
- Have a working knowledge digital marketing, sales and marketing funnels, and lead generation
- Have a solid understanding of data flow, API integrations, and custom webhooks
- Understand the various automation and integration solutions and best use cases, ideally n8n, make, and zapier
- Understand the various AI solutions and best use cases, ideally GhatGPT, Claude, and 'whatever is coming out next'...
- Have a keen eye for automation improvements and be able to learn the particular needs of a variety of clients
- Have at least minimal experience with web design, mostly using WordPress and Elementor
- Have at least minimal experience with video and image editing
- Love to solve technical problems, and find the challenges of the ever-changing digital marketing industry a welcome puzzle to solve
