The Role

As a Design Lead (UX, Product and Innovation), you will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution for assigned projects for a range of our clients. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders, to ensure a seamless, user-centred design process.  We’re seeking an individual who will be motivated by the opportunity to lead, innovate, and contribute to a culture of design excellence within a dynamic team environment.

Role Summary

• Position: Design Lead (UX, Product and Innovation)
• Location: Remote. Travel to Dublin required for occasional in-person meetings and workshops
• Experience Level: 5+ years in UX and product design or related fields
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field

Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Lead the full spectrum of the design process, including research, conceptualization, prototyping, validation, and detailed design, ensuring high-quality outcomes that align with user needs and business goals.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, Engineers, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure a seamless product development process. Act as a pivotal bridge between design and non-design teams, facilitating communication and collaboration.
• User-Centred Advocacy: Champion user-centred design principles and best practices across the organisation and client projects, contributing to a strong design culture that prioritises user needs and experiences.
• Data-Driven Design: Utilise data-driven insights to inform design decisions, optimise existing designs, and uncover areas for innovation and improvement.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior designers and team members, promoting professional growth, learning, and a collaborative team environment.
• Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of the latest trends, tools, and technologies in design to continually enhance the company’s design practice and offerings.

Requirements

• Proven Expertise: Demonstrable experience with a portfolio showcasing excellence in UX and product design, particularly in consumer-facing products within regulated fields (advantageous).
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and work collaboratively across departments to align design initiatives with business objectives.
• User-Centred Design Skills: Deep understanding of user-centred design, Design Thinking, UX methodologies, and usability best practices.
• Communication Excellence: Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to articulate design concepts and rationales to diverse stakeholders.
• Agile and Collaborative: Experience in agile environments and adeptness at facilitating workshops, design sprints, and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
• Passion for Design: A strong passion for creating intuitive, user-friendly products that exceed customer expectations.
