About Us:

Founded in 2015, Map My Customers is on a mission to help field sales teams drive significantly more revenue. Field sales teams are long past due for change and are deeply tied to the supply chain across dozens of industries like manufacturing, automotive, packaging and supplies — yet are underserved with the technology, tools, and enablement platforms for jobs on the road.

Map My Customers is undergoing rapid growth, having doubled revenue and achieved greater than a 100% net recurring revenue retention rate over the last 24 months. Our platform is already trusted by thousands of mid-market and enterprise outside sales reps across the globe to increase revenue through our best-in-class sales enablement capabilities. Following two recent capital raises, we are expanding [without over-hiring] to be ready for high-growth.

Our team is fully remote and global, with much of our go-to-market team scattered across the Americas. Product and Engineering [your team] is even more global, with teammates across three different continents. In practice, our team is direct but always kind — and taking action takes you far. We work consistently to improve our remote culture with semi-annual onsite weeks and frequent virtual and in-person happy hours for those in NYC and Raleigh.

About our Platform:

At Map My Customers, we understand that better sales decisions stem from actionable data. Imagine a suite of tools designed specifically to help sales reps use their time more effectively by generating leads on the go, identifying the best opportunities, and suggesting key customer activities to perform. Our customers bundle better data within our reporting and analytics suite to drive decisions that immediately increase sales and retention.

The key for our business? Making that tool mobile-friendly and easy-to-use. Design at Map My Customers is a critical shop - with our customers consistently ranking “ease-of-use” as the thing they love most about our tool. Field sales as a function is hundreds of years old; by making design a top priority of the company’s we are differentiating our product against the flood of tools in sales that see single digit adoption and retention rates.

About the Role:

For Map My Customers to continue to scale at its current rate, we must continue our product-led approach to growth. And at the core of a great product… is great design. The design team at Map My Customers was established in 2020 and has remained a core part of our product organization. As one of two full-time designers, there is plenty of opportunity for growth and domain leadership.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer/Design Engineer who combines exceptional UX and product design with rapid prototyping expertise. You’ll own our design system in Figma, translate ideas into high‑fidelity prototypes using modern “vibe coding” tools (e.g., Claude Code, Lovable, etc.), and define/refine user experiences from concept to polished, production‑ready designs.

This is a fully remote role, with a strong preference for candidates who can work standard US Eastern time zone hours to collaborate closely with our product and engineering teams. If you bring strong user experience and Jobs‑to‑Be‑Done thinking, and you’re comfortable working closely with PMs and engineers to move fast without sacrificing quality, then this role is perfect for you!

You will:

  • Own and evolve our product design system in Figma (components, tokens, patterns, documentation) to ensure consistency, quality, and efficient implementation across the product.
  • Design end‑to‑end user flows, experiences, and interfaces, from discovery and wireframes to high‑fidelity visuals and detailed interaction specs.
  • Rapidly prototype new concepts using tools like Claude Code, Lovable, or similar code‑driven prototyping tools
  • Refine those prototypes through polished visual design, interaction details, and production‑ready Figma handoff to engineering.
  • Apply Jobs‑to‑Be‑Done and user‑centered design methods to understand user motivations, define problems, and frame outcomes for each project.
  • Partner closely with Product and Engineering to prioritize work, define experiments, and ensure designs are feasible and implemented with high quality.
  • Run lightweight user research and usability tests (or collaborate with research partners) to validate concepts and iterate quickly.
  • Collect user feedback and research findings in a well-documented, easy to understand structure.
  • Contribute to product strategy by translating business goals and constraints into clear design hypotheses and testable prototypes.
  • Document patterns, decisions, and best practices so others can reuse your work and contribute back to the system.
  • Help cultivate a design‑forward culture by sharing work, giving feedback, and mentoring teammates on design systems and prototyping.

You should:

  • Have an eagerness to stretch the breadth and depth of your design muscles
  • Be practical, and understand the balance between perfect design and getting to market
  • Have an affinity for the abstract and the drive to use constraints focus in on what’s important
  • Always consider new features, components, and solutions within the context of the whole
  • Strive to be curious, humble, and kind

Qualifications:

Required

  • 5+ years of experience in product design (or design engineering) building shipping digital products, ideally in B2B SaaS or other complex interfaces.
  • Deep expertise in Figma: component libraries, variables/tokens, auto‑layout, variants, file architecture, and design system maintenance.
  • Experience defining or scaling a design system from early stage to broader adoption.
  • Strong visual and interaction design skills with a portfolio of shipped work that demonstrates clarity, polish, and attention to detail.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping using code‑adjacent tools (e.g., Claude Code, Lovable, Framer, React prototypes, or similar), including realistic data and production‑like interactions.
  • Solid grounding in user experience design and discovery methods: user interviews, journey mapping, hypothesis‑driven experiments, and usability testing.
  • Strong ability to define user research experiments, document findings, and clearly communicate insights with stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Jobs‑to‑Be‑Done thinking and outcome‑driven design, with examples of how you’ve framed problems and validated jobs in previous work.
  • Comfort collaborating directly with engineers (discussing constraints, reviewing implementations, and iterating on builds).
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain design decisions and tradeoffs to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and manage design project tasks and timelines.
  • Ability to work autonomously in an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment while maintaining a high bar for quality.

Preferred

  • Experience leading design teams and driving design goals
  • Experience with analytics or experimentation platforms to connect design work to measurable outcomes.
  • Prior work in an early‑stage startup

How We’ll Work Together

  • You’ll partner most closely with the Product, Design, and Engineering teams, collaborating daily in Slack, Figma, and Jira.
  • We keep meetings lean, relying on async updates and well‑structured design documents, with scheduled design crits and reviews during Eastern Time core hours.
  • Your first 90 days will focus on:
  • Auditing and familiarizing yourself with our current design system in Figma as well as our core users, their journeys, and key jobs-to-be-done.
  • Creating rapid prototypes and establishing a strong product-design-development cycle.
  • Shipping high‑impact prototypes and evaluating core limitations
  • Embedding JTBD thinking into at least one major initiative, from discovery through shipping.
