UI/UX Designer for Manuel

We’re looking for a UI/UX Designer who can own the entire user experience from concept to launch. You’ll shape the visual and interaction language, invent new UX standards for AI tools, and make Manuel a product that users can’t live without.
Your Mission
You’ll build the design foundation, turn customer insights into usable designs, and craft a self-service product that’s so intuitive it teaches itself. You’ll be the voice of the user inside our team, ensuring every interaction is both functional and delightful.
What You’ll Do.
- Build & Guard Our Design System
- Create a scalable component library in Figma with tokens, variants, and responsive rules.
- Make it easy for engineers to use your system directly—while keeping visual and interaction consistency airtight.
2. Be the Bridge Between Users & Team
- Gather insights from Customer Success and direct user interviews.
- Translate them into clear, clickable prototypes ready for dev hand-off in under two weeks.
3. Research, Test & Experiment
- Run usability tests and A/B experiments to validate decisions.
- Document results and feed them into rapid design iterations.
4. Own the Onboarding Experience
- Redesign the first-time user flow so new installers can succeed with zero training.
- Define flows for account setup, payments, and feature gating in a fully self-service model.
5. Drive Retention
- Analyse why users churn or go dormant—and design experiences that bring them back (guided flows, in-app tips, empty-state magic).
Your Authority
- End-to-end ownership of all UI/UX decisions.
- Freedom to run experiments without pre-approval (as long as risks are low).
- Set priorities with the Product Lead—not overridden unless strategic.
Who You’ll Work With
- Product Lead – Weekly 1-on-1 on backlog & priorities.
- Engineers (3) – Per sprint + async design hand-off.
- Customer Success – Weekly syncs on user pain points.
- Founders – Bi-weekly checkpoints on strategic direction.
What We’re Looking For
Experience:
- 3+ years in B2B SaaS product design
- Proven expertise in chat-based systems and AI assistants—message threading, prompt suggestions, fallback states, and multimodal input (text, button, voice).
- Skilled at mobile + web UX for both responsive webapps and native mobile.
- Up to date on AI UX trends and able to invent—not copy—the next generation of interfaces.
Core Skills:
- User research & Jobs-to-Be-Done mapping.
- Rapid prototyping in Figma, strong component libraries
- AI-driven UX: prompt architecture, context windows, and risk-aware design.
- Product-led growth metrics: DAU/MAU, activation, retention cohorts, A/B testing.
- Agile delivery: story mapping, tickets, estimating velocity.
Soft Skills:
- Owner mindset—from problem to experiment to solution.
- Storyteller—able to simplify complex AI concepts.
