The Product Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative and engaging toy products that captivate and inspire the target audience. They will be working closely with cross-functional teams including Product Designers-Advanced design, graphic designers, suppliers, and manufacturers, to bring imaginative ideas to life.
Responsibilities:
- Develop idea-to-shelf toy concepts that align with market trends, brand identity, and target audience preferences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, marketers, and manufacturers to refine designs, address technical challenges, and ensure product feasibility and scalability.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain and prepare quotes for materials, components, and manufacturing services required for product production (CAD, BOM, specs).
- Provide graphic designers with all the information needed to ensure consistency and clarity in the production of packaging and instruction manuals.
- Apply AI-driven insights and emerging technologies to identify market opportunities, support product innovation, and optimize product development and sourcing strategies.
Qualifications:
- University or college diploma in design or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of design experience in the field of consumer-packaged goods, ideally in the toy industry.
- Proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop and Excel software. SolidWorks is not required but is a plus.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment which requires a certain ability to adapt.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for designing products that inspire and delight children.
- Experience in the development of children's cosmetics, beauty accessories, personal care products, or fashion-related consumer products is an asset but not required
