Director/Senior Manager, Global Marketing

Book☆Walker Global (a division of M12 Media LLC) is seeking a strategic and passionate leader to elevate our marketing global efforts. As the Director/Senior Manager of Global Marketing, you won't just run campaigns, you will be the visionary who shapes our brand's future. You'll lead a team, develop strategies, and drive growth for a wide range of digital content, including manga, light novels, comics, and audiobooks.

This is a high-impact position for an experienced professional who understands the intersection of publishing, digital content, and global fandom.

Brief description of job responsibilities:

●     Lead and Coordinate Global Marketing Efforts: You will act as the central point for all marketing initiatives, providing strategic direction. You will ensure seamless communication and collaboration, aligning everyone toward a unified vision.

●     Develop and Execute Comprehensive Marketing Strategies: Own the development and implementation of our annual marketing plan. This includes creating campaign calendars and managing promotions across all digital and traditional channels for key titles and seasonal events.

●     Drive Digital Advertising and Performance: Oversee the strategy and execution of digital advertising campaigns, including paid social, search, and display ads. You will be responsible for tracking campaign performance and using data to optimize strategies for user acquisition and retention to hit KPIs.

●     Build and Nurture Our Community: Lead our community presence, including social media strategy, influencer outreach, and fan engagement. You will act as a face of the brand at industry events and conventions, managing activations, panels, and sponsorships.

●     Collaborate with Global and External Partners: Work closely with our international teams, North American publishers, and event organizers. You'll build and maintain these key relationships to drive shared campaigns and create new opportunities.

●     Manage Budgets and Timelines: Oversee and define marketing budgets, timelines, and cross-team coordination to ensure all initiatives are delivered on time and within scope. You will regularly analyze campaign performance to provide strategic insights and recommendations to other senior leadership.

Who we looking for:

●     A marketing leader with 5+ years of experience, including a background in team management and leadership.

●     Someone who loves online pop culture and manga, light novels, and comics, with a deep understanding of global fandom trends and digital reading behaviors.

●     A strategic thinker with a proven track record of developing and executing multi-channel marketing campaigns that drive measurable results.

●     An expert in digital advertising platforms and marketing analytics, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.

●     An exceptional communicator and collaborator who can navigate different departments and international cultures with sensitivity and ease.

●     Someone with a proven track record of high-engagement, improved SEO, and ads that translate to high customer turnover–who can define and lead on engaging strategy to do the same for the digital eBook market.

●     Familiar with the North American publishing industry, fan conventions, and digital content platforms.

●     Based in North America with the ability to travel several times per year for events and meetings.

Bonus Points for:

●     Experience managing or building online communities and influencer programs.

●     A background in publishing, anime, or entertainment marketing.

●     Japanese language skills or experience working with Japanese partners.
