🚀 AI-Native Software Engineer / Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Location: Remote

Type: B2B Contract or Perm

About Loop Future

Loop Future combines technology, innovation, and sustainability to create digital solutions that shape the future. By integrating software engineering, cloud solutions, Salesforce expertise, and intelligent sourcing, Loop Future connects people, systems, and industries to drive efficiency, growth, and global impact. As a certified B Corporation headquartered in Portugal, we are supported by a diverse international team across offices in the UK, Switzerland, and India, delivering cutting-edge digital experiences across domains like TV & Media, Satellite & Space, and Retail.

About the Role

We are looking for experienced, mid-to-senior-level AI-native Software Engineers to join a small delivery team supporting enterprise AI transformation projects across Europe. This is a hands-on, client-facing engineering role for individuals who already use AI coding tools as a core part of their day-to-day development workflow.

Similar to a Forward Deployed Engineer position, you will work closely with enterprise IT and software teams to turn AI ideas into working technical capabilities. The focus is entirely on execution—building the software, automations, and agentic workflows that make transformation real—rather than owning high-level enterprise architecture or strategy. Typical projects include helping client teams improve parts of the software development lifecycle, such as code reviews, requirements analysis, legacy modernization, or cloud migrations.

Responsibilities:

  • Build software, automations, and agentic workflows using AI-native development practices
  • Use environments like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, and Antigravity as part of your normal engineering workflow
  • Design and build solutions using LLMs, agents, tools, APIs, databases, and enterprise integrations
  • Work directly with client-side engineers, architects, and IT teams to support pair programming and guide them through new AI-native workflows
  • Build practical prototypes and production-ready systems in fast-moving enterprise landscapes
  • Help translate unclear or evolving requirements into working software
  • Support modernization or platform harmonization initiatives involving legacy platforms or internal tooling.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, ideally including production-grade systems.
  • AI Expertise: 2+ years of hands-on experience working with LLMs, AI-assisted development, AI workflows, or applied AI tooling
  • Tool Proficiency: Strong day-to-day experience coding with AI in a deliberate, structured way (specification, planning, testing, and review) using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar
  • Technical Breadth: Experience designing or building solutions across cloud, data, API, database, and integration-heavy landscapes
  • Consultative Mindset: Strong ability to work directly with technical stakeholders, explain concepts clearly, and support teams adopting new ways of working
  • Execution Focus: A practical, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to build quickly without losing sight of quality, security, or maintainability , alongside comfort working with incomplete requirements

Highly Valued (But Not Mandatory) Experience

  • Experience with agentic systems, MCPs, tool use, or orchestration frameworks
  • Experience with evaluation, testing, observability, or quality control for AI systems
  • Background in enterprise environments like banking, automotive, telecoms, or manufacturing
  • Experience with legacy landscapes (e.g., COBOL, SAP, mainframes) or large enterprise migration programs
  • Experience with data architecture, cloud infrastructure, or platform engineering
