THE WORK
The Boeing-Sikorsky Aircraft Support (BSAS) Lead Sustainment Engineer position will support the US Army’s 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) with technical and engineering liaison support as the point-of-contact within Sikorsky Global Sustainment's Field Service Engineering Group. Candidate will be responsible for processing and responding to technical inquiries from Fort Campbell, KY/TN regarding troubleshooting of MH-60M Black Hawk Helicopters. The candidate will be required to review engineering drawings, technical manuals, and other engineering documentation to conduct research and answer questions. The candidate will need to communicate with design and systems engineers when higher level support is required. The candidate will communicate with the Program Manager and also be the engineering lead on weekly program calls with the customer. They will need to be self-sufficient and be able to speak to all technical and engineering related matters on their own during these calls.
The optimal candidate will have thorough working knowledge of the aircraft operation and design and a deep understanding of root cause / corrective action determination. In addition, the candidate must be trained and comply with all ITAR/EAR Export laws as they relate to Sikorsky policy on distribution of technical data. The candidate should have an A&P Mechanic license or equivalent applicable Rotary/Sikorsky work experience in the field of customer support, production, repair and overhaul. This job may require temporary support of all shifts in order to support the 24-hour Customer Care Center, though primarily first shift.
Position requires a well-rounded candidate with extensive hands-on experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of Sikorsky products. At least 7 years’ experience with H-60 aircraft as a mechanic and/or pilot. Candidate must be highly skilled in the interpretation of technical publications, engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical data. They must be able to provide technical support and insight to internal customers such as Product Safety, Programs, Material, Analytics & Technology, and others as required. Successful candidate will interface with functional engineering on a frequent basis.
Up to 20% travel to customer locations will be required to attend conferences, perform on-site inspections, or provide troubleshooting support at the unit.
This position will report to the manager of Field Service Engineering. Other technical duties may be required.

Desired Skills
A&P license

Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
