Staff Software Engineer, New Verticals

Are you an experienced Backend or Web fullstack software engineer who has delighted customers with software at scale? Can you balance shipping what's needed to learn from customers with laying the foundations for growth when we find success?

We have established the New Verticals team to bring our fleet of electric vehicles to more people. We are exploring new solutions and will be learning through iteration with real customers. You'll ship zero-to-one products and help shape the future of Lime.

As a Staff Backend Engineer you'll be driving the core commerce operations that power our new experiences. You'll work with another Staff Backend Engineer, mobile engineers, as well as Product Management, Design, and Data representatives to deliver new products and the infrastructure needed to manage them. New Verticals is a peer to teams owning our primary riding product and you'll work with them to ship solutions that lean into Lime's capabilities.

This is a remote position with a requirement for candidates residing in the United States to maintain effective collaboration across teams.

What You'll Do

• Deliver software to enable new customer initiatives and own the balance between time to launch, ability to pivot, and ability to scale. Seek and utilize knowledge of the Lime engineering ecosystem to find the right solution, or design what's needed.
• Learn from our customers by shipping software and understanding the market environment.
• Collaborate with coworkers in Product, Design, Data, and Operations. Ensure solutions interoperate well with Lime's full stack of services. The team’s work will span cloud-based backend services, web-based tools, mobile clients, and third-party applications.
• Mentor individuals at Lime and participate in learning, growth, and improvement activities.
• Participate in the shaping of Lime's Engineering culture.

About You

• 7+ years of industry professional software development experience, and a track record of building impactful products or systems.
• Team focus: you recognize your team is the source of your success and invest in them. That includes cross-functional collaborators in Product, Design, Data, and Operations.
• Owner's mindset: you're focused on outcomes and can solve problems to get there.
• Data driven: You instrument your work for decision making, you can reason through data to learn from our customers.
• Excellent communication skills and effective management of competing priorities.

Preferred Experience

• Experience shipping Ruby on Rails backend and/or React-based web frontend applications.
• Brings a learning mindset to the use of software development tools including AI.
• You’re enthusiastic about Lime's mission and micromobility; you want to see cities transform to becoming people-centric and less polluted

_The salary range listed reflects what Lime reasonably expects to offer for this role, with the final base salary determined by factors such as the candidate’s location and relevant skills and experience. Depending on the position, the total compensation package may also include discretionary annual performance bonus opportunities and equity, subject to applicable plan terms and eligibility requirements.

Compensation Range: $190K - $261K
