Role Description

Based in our Bioggio (CH) office, this full-time Software Engineer position puts you in the driver's seat. At Lifeware, engineers are at the forefront—you are given full ownership and responsibility for your projects from day one.

Working within a fast-paced, collaborative Agile environment, you will design, implement, and maintain the back-end components of our core platform. Rather than just taking orders, you will work directly with product and actuarial experts to translate complex business needs into elegant technical solutions. Your daily impact includes writing clean code, collaborating through peer reviews, and making key architectural decisions. You will also have the autonomy to explore and integrate AI-driven tools to innovate our software and streamline the development lifecycle. Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Proven proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and delivering production-quality applications.
• Experience with, or a strong desire to work in, Agile/XP environments, embracing modern development practices like continuous integration and peer collaboration.
• A proactive mindset with a strong interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and a desire to apply it to real-world technical challenges.
• The ability to take full ownership of complex problems, propose solutions, and collaborate directly with cross-functional teams without layers of middle management.
• Effective written and spoken communication skills in a professional, international environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
