Senior UX Designer (E-Commerce) – Remote (Select U.S. States)
Location: Remote – must be based in NC, NY, CT, NH, FL, or CA
Compensation: $115K–$120K base (flexible for highly qualified candidates)
Overview
We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to lead the design and transformation of modern e-commerce experiences across web and mobile platforms. This role is critical in shaping intuitive, high-converting digital journeys—from product discovery through checkout and post-purchase engagement.
You will partner closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and marketing to deliver seamless, customer-centric designs that directly impact engagement, conversion, and revenue outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End UX Design
- Design intuitive, scalable e-commerce experiences across web and mobile
- Own the full UX lifecycle including research, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI
- Improve key touchpoints such as product pages, shopping flows, and checkout experiences
E-Commerce Optimization
- Apply UX best practices to drive conversion, retention, and average order value
- Design solutions for upselling, cross-selling, and personalized recommendations
- Continuously refine experiences using iterative design and user feedback
User Research & Testing
- Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and A/B testing
- Leverage analytics and behavioral data (heatmaps, session tracking) to inform decisions
- Identify friction points and propose data-driven design improvements
Design Systems & Scalability
- Build and maintain scalable design systems and reusable UI components
- Ensure consistency across merchandising, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to align on KPIs and goals
- Present design concepts and articulate decisions tied to business outcomes
Performance & Accessibility
- Monitor key metrics such as conversion rate, cart abandonment, and engagement
- Ensure designs meet accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA) and responsiveness requirements
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of UX/UI or Product Design experience
- Proven experience designing e-commerce or retail digital products
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX process with measurable outcomes
- Hands-on experience with:
- User research and usability testing
- Conversion optimization and digital merchandising
- Responsive and accessible design principles
- Proficiency with tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
✅ Required Experience:
- Shopify and/or modern e-commerce platform experience (MANDATORY)
- (Candidates without recent e-commerce platform experience will not be considered)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing for mobile-first and responsive web applications
- Background in retail, direct-to-consumer, or high-volume e-commerce environments
- Familiarity with platforms such as:
- Shopify
- Salesforce Commerce Cloud
- Magento
- Understanding of HTML/CSS or front-end constraints (nice-to-have)
- Experience working in agile/product development environments
