About The Insurance Product Design Team
The problems to solve, the realized value, and the outcomes of the product design practice have seen immense growth over the last two and a half years. Whether it be for our B2C or B2B experiences, web or native apps, or for our internal and external users, our mission is to create shared understanding towards our product opportunities, be data-driven in our advocacy for users, and deliver exceptional experiences. Starting as a nimble team of two designers two and a half years ago, we are now a thriving team of eleven dedicated to several different product suites. The culture of product design is always evolving, and we emulate that always-on evolution. Join our team if you value a learning mindset, a fast culture of collaboration and want to enjoy the team you work with along the way.
About The Role
Within LNRS, our company goals and the quality of our users’ experiences are deeply connected. As such, Product Design is highly valued for translating high level business objectives into tangible, meaningful product opportunities, and satisfying user experiences proven through data-driven results. This role, Product Design Lead, balances a focus between product strategy, UX mentorship, and individual contribution. The Product Design Lead is in charge of partnering tightly with Product Managers, Business Stakeholders, and Technology to inform a product vision and roadmap for the product suites they oversee. They guide and mentor their team of Product Designers throughout the product lifecycle in all facets of generative research, solution design and evaluative efforts to reflect the business objectives and product KPIs into excellent product experiences, all while ensuring their team demonstrates strong adherence to the best practices of our discipline. As the need arises, this role will also show an ability to dive in as an individual product designer or researcher, exemplifying the gold-standard of how their team contributes to their product suite.

Someone who prescribes to the same or similar values as this team’s:
We are not our research; we are not our designs. As designers and researchers, we can critique our work and others’ work independently of the designer who made them. In fact, we help each other grow by constantly reviewing and offering critiques/ ideas. The best work is always pressure tested.
We have deep empathy and not just for our users, but also for the product managers, developers, and other designers on our team. Our ability to positively affect our users derives from the trust and support we provide our team.
Pixel perfect designs are for our users’ benefit not for our own. With that in mind, let’s be comfortable sharing in-progress work. This also pushes us to collaborate, learn, and improve each other as much as we can.
