The Technical Marketing Manager supports the American sales team with technical advice, joining customer meetings to generate new business and grow the market share of DCL in North America.

Responsibilities Include

  • Secure and grow the pigment business with technical support to the sales team in North America.
  • Setup customer specific product-specifications in alignment with the responsible QC and Product Manager and take care of these in terms of batch/CoA selection for these customers
  • Secure communication with Sales on technical issues, batch selection, PSS availability and technical advice to secure and grow our business
  • Train Distributers, Agents, sales team and customers from technical side on our global pigment and latest innovations for all applications online as well as face to face, where needed.
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams (Sales, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Regulatory, Purchasing, and Product Management) to deliver seamless communication and optimized service to DCL customers.
  • Create customized technical and marketing presentations as technical guidance to align with customer needs and corporate objectives in consultation with Global Head of Innovation & Marketing.
  • Develop and implement strategies together with sales and Global Head of Innovation & Marketing Manager to achieve DCL´s sales goals and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Provide technical information and support to Marketing to generate new sales and marketing tools.
  • Analyze technical customer requirements and provide customer specific solutions, from product recommendations through technical guidance in customer formulations for the whole DCL product portfolio as well as to replace discontinued or competition products in customer systems.
  • Collaborate with customer decision-makers to address technical inquiries, showcase DCL´s innovations, and offer actionable solutions in consultation with Sales and Global Head of Innovation & Marketing.
  • Monitor and report on customer trends to the Global R&D / Innovation and Marketing Team, delivering insights to support future product developments.
  • Stay current on market trends, regulations, and technological advancements in pigments and related industries.
  • Represent the company at industry events and conferences as needed in consultation with VP Sales and Global Head of Innovation & Marketing.
  • Complaint handling / communication in front of our customers as well as the transfer of technical issues/complaints to the labs/plants and the responsible internal contacts.
  • Study new market trends and setup penetration plans together with the Global Head of Innovation & Marketing
  • QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor´s degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or similar area of study.
  • Minimum 10 years of technical lab or support experience in pigments, coatings or plastics.
  • Deep understanding of pigment's chemistry and customers technical requirements.
  • Self-motivational, organizational, problem solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Ability to work with different functional groups and locations to grow business and improve profitability.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation, including emergency response and ISO 9001 and 14001 quality systems.
  • Advance technical aptitude and understanding customer application processes and technology.
