We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Data Scientist to join our high performing Medicare and Retirement Government Quality Programs team, focusing on improving member experience and driving performance in CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) star measures. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies, advanced statistical methods, and machine learning techniques to deliver actionable insights and recommendations that influence key organizational decisions. As a subject matter expert, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement analytical solutions that optimize healthcare outcomes and transform the member experience. Primary Responsibilities

• Perform advanced data analytics to identify insights that can be incorporated into strategic recommendations for improving member health care experience
• Work in a cross-disciplinary environment to embed analytics into strategies that address business problems through data-driven solutions
• Develop solid relationships with stakeholders to define business questions, develop hypotheses and design experiments to improve member outcomes
• Clearly communicate complex findings and make recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
• Support data acquisition and integration necessary to execute analytics projects
• Understand and explain drivers of survey outcomes
• Bring disparate data together with knowledge of health care and government policy to develop and communicate sound business recommendations to leaders throughout the organization
• Provide guidance to junior level data scientists on best practices and methodologies
• Self-motivated and demonstrates an innate ability to absorb new concepts, technical frameworks, program paradigms while employing them creatively to solve complex analytical problems
• Critical thinker- this position will need to evaluate merits of new and innovative ideas and make sound decisions

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in developing analytical solution using techniques such as machine learning, text mining/analysis, simulations, hypothesis testing, etc.
• 3+ years of professional experience with programming languages
• 3+ years of professional experience applying data analysis to solve business problems
• 2+ years of professional experience communicating analytic results to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Medicare Advantage products or the healthcare industry
• Experience working with survey data
• Proven solid communicator - this role will need to be comfortable presenting program objectives, process, and performance in multiple setting
• Proven solid relationship building skills with internal and practice teams to drive goal alignment

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
