Primary Responsibilities

• Demonstrate experience with the full development life cycle for large-scale software products
• Design, build, and operate secure cloud platform services and software that meet business requirements
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with other engineers and offshore/global teams
• Understand product, project, and consumer priorities and follow Agile methodologies to deliver features within the specified timeline
• Independently perform coding and unit testing and conducting code reviews
• Adhere to code quality standards, development best practices, and deliver defect-free code
• Practice agile solution delivery and influence teams towards engineering best practices, such as DevOps, CI/CD, and everything-as-code
• Address and resolve production support issues after deployment, providing solutions as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, and/or 4+ years of experience in developing large-scale distributed systems, including hands-on operational experience
• 4+ years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE (preferably Java 17 and above), Spring Boot, NoSQL Database, Docker/Kubernetes, GitHub
• 3+ years of experience with Agile/lean development practices
• 2+ years of experience working with Microservices and Event-driven architecture like Kafka
• 2+ years of experience with Cloud environments and architectures, preferably Azure
• 2+ years of engineering experience in building infrastructure using code (Terraform) and repeatable designs
• 2+ years of experience in automation of CI/CD and source control systems such as Git

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Python
• Experience with AngularJS
• Experience using GitHub actions
• Expertise with JUnit, TestNG, or any other test framework. JUnit test cases and knowledge of the DevOps toolchain
• Healthcare domain background
• Proven solid troubleshooting skills

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
