The Data Experience Team owns and operates systems that are used across Akamai for log delivery, analytics, reporting and alerting. These systems currently receive over 7PB/day of data and process over 5 trillion records per day. Our code helps to run one of the largest distributed systems in the world.

We develop applications and services to empower our customers. In this role, you will gather requirements, design, implement, and maintain services used to provide customer-facing billing information, event analytics and product-related alerts. These features are vital to understanding and optimizing Akamai products' performance and consumption. Our team is collaborative, creative and inclusive.

As a Software Engineer Senior Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Leading the design/development of customer-facing billing and alerting solutions.
• Partnering with product management, architects and other engineering teams to build features that allow customers to understand their products and performance.
• Leading a cross-functional team where quality and availability are key capabilities that are shared across all team members.
• Providing technical leadership, mentoring engineers, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
• Solving complex problems in a timely and accurate manner through development, automation and systems programming.

Do What You Love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have experience leading software development teams, mentoring engineers, and driving best practices in Agile environments.
• Demonstrate solid experience with Java and Spring framework.
• Exhibit frontend application development experience (using JavaScript, TypeScript and Angular or similar frontend frameworks).
• Be proficient in API design, development, security and management.
• Have knowledge of Docker and monitoring tools like Grafana, Splunk.
• Display excellent analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
