Job Description

A healthcare insurance client is looking for a Sr Software Engineer to join their team remotely. This will be an individual contributor position responsible for converting code between SAS, Python, and SQL, within the public cloud. This person should have a strong overall understanding of data processing and analytics. The Sr Software Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and implementing software applications using Python, SAS< and SQL. They will need to collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and design efficient solutions. They will be responsible for converting code between Python, SAS, and SQL to support data processing and analytics tasks, and optimizing and integrating software applications with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and platforms. They will conduct code reviews, identify and resolve technical issues, and ensure code quality and performance. They will ensure the code is optimized to reduce cloud compute costs by following best practices. The goal is to move away from SAS and convert the existing code into different platforms as the company works on increasing efficiencies across their data processing and data analytics platforms as a whole. This resource must have strong communication skills and will work directly with stakeholders to drive business needs.

Skills And Requirements

7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer with expertise in Python, SAS, and SQL

2+ years of experience working on open-sourced software deployed in a public cloud environment

Strong public cloud knowledge of Azure, GCP, and/or AWS

Experience with BigQuery

Strong ability to convert code between SAS, SQL, and Python

Strong understanding of data processing, analytics, and database concepts null
