Job Description

An employer is looking for a Remote Messaging Engineer to work PST hours. In this role, they will ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of Microsoft Exchange (both on-premises and Online) and Microsoft 365 email services. The individual will actively manage email-related DNS records (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC) to maintain secure and seamless mail flow, while implementing and maintaining email hygiene solutions to defend against phishing, spam, and malware. Theyll configure messaging policies, retention rules, and mailbox permissions to meet business and compliance needs, and lead upgrades, migrations, and integrations across hybrid environments. Collaboration with security teams will be key to monitoring and responding to email-related incidents in alignment with regulatory standards like SOX, ISO, and GDPR. Daily tasks will also include automating administrative processes using PowerShell, maintaining system documentation, and analyzing performance metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks. The role involves cross-functional teamwork, especially during mergers or divestitures, and includes evaluating new tools to enhance productivity and security. Participation in incident response and root cause analysis, enforcing security best practices, and contributing to a comprehensive knowledge base are also part of the routine. Additionally, the individual will be part of an on-call rotation and expected to uphold the companys code of ethics while performing other related duties as assigned.

Skills And Requirements

5+ years of experience administering enterprise-level messaging platforms.

3+ years of experience with Microsoft Exchange 2016/2019, Exchange Online, hybrid deployments, and

email security platforms like Cisco ESA/IronPorts.

Familiarity with Microsoft 365 compliance features, retention policies, and eDiscovery.

Experience with DNS management related to email services.

Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate or Microsoft

Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate preferred.

Strong proficiency in scripting languages.

Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. null
