The Role
This role is the key link between the Product Manager and the development team. The role is responsible for providing the user stories that deliver the business value and solve customer problems, through high quality products.
Job Duties Include
- Collaborate with Product Management to define product vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities and articulate this direction to Agile teams and stakeholders
- Establish and maintain product roadmap with the Product Manager while advising on future development that needs to be addressed
- Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, features, and epics to ensure work focuses on maximum value and alignment with product strategy
- Participate in sprint reviews with the team and stakeholders to discuss the value the feature delivers.
- Create and maintain user stories for the development team.
- Solicit feedback from internal subject matter experts and customers to incorporate into upcoming backlog items
- Work closely with Product Management to maintain product backlog in alignment with roadmap, including prioritizing, grooming, and understanding acceptance criteria
- Provide iteration planning and elaboration of user stories, ensuring that they provide quality solutions across all integrated products
- Establish release plans in alignment with resources while maintaining awareness of customer issues impacting milestone dates
- Inform management of ideas, risks, and achievements of teams
- Triage Support cases
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Requirements
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a technical field, or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of professional experience as a Product Owner or similar
- Knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Skilled with product management methodology and processes
- Skilled with software product design, functionality and development
- Skilled with technical writing and developing user stories
- Skilled with Story Mapping, Feature Breakdown, and Mind Mapping techniques
- Able to take complex requests and distill into understandable context for other stakeholders and development
- Able to speak to issues in practice and influence necessary change by the development teams
- Able to facilitate large team meetings and pull all participants into discussions
- Familiar with Story Mapping, Feature Breakdown, and Mind Mapping techniques
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
