We’re seeking a seasoned and forward-thinking Senior AI/ML Software Architect to join our team and help shape the future of intelligent healthcare solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in .NET, cloud platforms, and AI/ML integration—someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about building scalable, innovative systems that drive real-world impact.

Primary Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code
  • Design systems integrating ML/generative AI with real-time adjudication, autonomous coding, and chart intelligence
  • Scale AI/ML solutions for real-time and large-scale workloads
  • Make architectural decisions ensuring best practices in AI/ML infrastructure

Collaboration & Communication

  • Align technical execution with business goals
  • Translate complex technical concepts for business stakeholders
  • Collaborate with global and offshore teams for seamless delivery

Architecture & Documentation

  • Create architecture artifacts: diagrams, design docs, and specifications

Executive Reporting

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and outcomes to executives

Compliance & Governance

  • Navigate legal, compliance, and regulatory processes with relevant teams

Team Development

  • Mentor engineers and foster a high-performing, collaborative culture

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay current on ML, generative AI, and cloud trends to drive innovation

Required Qualifications

  • .NET Development: 10+ years of experience in enterprise-grade software development
  • Architecture Design: 10+ years of experience creating system diagrams and technical documentation
  • Cloud Platforms: 8+ years of experience with Azure/AWS, AKS, REDIS, Docker
  • Microservices: 8+ years of experience integrating AI into SaaS and microservice architectures
  • AI/ML Systems: 3+ years of experience designing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with generative AI frameworks (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain)
  • Demonstrated familiarity with FHIR standards and healthcare data interoperability
  • Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Proven knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
  • Experience with observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack)
  • Demonstrated background in natural language processing (NLP) and LLM integration
  • Proven experience with event-driven architectures and real-time data streaming (e.g., Kafka)

The salary range for this role is $124,500 to $239,400 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
