At TelCom Construction, LLC, as a Lead Drafter Designer you’ll develop and coordinate Outside Plant (OSP) network designs, ensuring compliance with project deliverables, local regulations, and permitting requirements. You’ll collaborate with engineering and construction teams, create necessary documentation, and address project issues to meet deadlines effective

What You’ll Do

• Participate on project teams and ensure compliance with predetermined project deliverables
• Identify and course correct project issues and risks, participate in response plans to resolve issues
• Create new Outside Plant (OSP) network designs in various applications/software
• Develop and issue work prints for OSP Telecom networks
• Work with Engineering and Construction departments and coordinate with permitting agencies
• Create documentation and reporting to support the work package, ie: bill of materials, labor quantities, etc.
• Ensure facility designs follow company standards and comply with the requirements of local, state and federal regulations, which may include Rural Utilities Service (RUS)
• Familiar with general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county, and city permitting agencies
• Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Meet project deadlines and successfully complete tasks under tight timelines
• Other duties as assigned

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or at least five years of telecommunications OSP Experience is required
• Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred
• Expertise in a drafting software such as AutoCAD is required

Knowledge of

• Telecommunications industry standards
• Regulations for OSP facilities
• Aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements
• Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Building
• Government permit requirements
• OSP Communications Design systems
• Applications such as NDS, FROGS, Fireworks, Bidmaster, Infinium and/or Varasset
• Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely : Work alone in remote locations, use keyboard and mouse
• Occasionally : Operate vehicle, climb stairs, stand, walk
