Job description 🧑‍💻

Your job will involve all the phases of Data Science projects:

• Data collection and annotation: depending on the project, you may have to collect new data, which will require defining data requirements and supervising the whole acquisition process. You will also manage annotation projects, for which you’ll have to define annotation guides and deliver training sessions to ensure optimal data quality.
• Model development and validation: you will mostly work on computer vision projects, using common tools such as Pytorch (and Pytorch Lightning), ultralytics, timm, OpenCV… But sometimes you will also work on classical machine learning tasks with XGBoost or scikit-learn.
• Data analysis: as part of our research, you will need to analyse datasets, clinical data, annotator performance, and model performance.

What you need to achieve 💪🏻

• Computer vision and other machine learning models for diagnosis support and severity assessment: you’ll produce robust models with full traceability to their training data, as well as thorough performance analyses to detect performance variations across demographic groups.
• Image datasets with optimal data quality: the data collection and annotation projects you lead will have no data issues, ensuring new models can be trained or validated on the new data.
• Scientific publications: part of our research may end up published in a journal. Your analyses must be reliable and generate value for the field.

Must have 🔍

Computer Vision and Data Science skills:

• OpenCV and PIL
• Pytorch
• Pytorch Lightning
• Ultralytics (or other YOLO-related packages)
• NumPy
• Pandas
• Scikit-learn

Other Computer Science skills:

• Git
• SQL

Strongly preferred (differentiators) 🌟

• Biomedical Engineering or similar life sciences background
• Proven experience handling large volumes of heterogeneous data
• Previous experience with annotation platforms (CVAT)
• Proven experience with unsupervised learning (SimCLR, DINO, etc…)
• Previous experience with cloud platforms (AWS)
• Previous experience with experiment tracking (MLFlow)
