The Role

Legend is hiring an Engineering Manager lead our Reno squad in our Gaming pillar, focused on building and scaling community experiences for our customers.

This is a hands-on, highly technical EM role: you’ll split your time between leading and growing engineers and staying close to the code and architecture. You’ll partner closely with Product to shape the roadmap, respond to user feedback, and iterate quickly to build a community platform from the ground up. Your Impact

• Lead & inspire a high-performing squad, fostering a positive and collaborative culture while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Be the technical anchor guiding architecture and engineering decisions, especially while mentoring and supporting your team.
• Build community-first products solving complex problems delivering features that improve user engagement and retention.
• Drive delivery in a product-led environment running effective agile ceremonies, managing expectations, and turning ambiguity into execution.
• Partner with stakeholders proactively, working cross-functional teams — including product management, content, design, SEO, and delivery — to ensure alignment and effective communication.

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager (or a very senior engineer with significant leadership scope) in a product environment. Experience building “community platform” style products is a plus.
• Strong hands-on capability with modern technologies — ideally React and Next.js and Node.js on the backend. Experience with TypeScript, PHP and CMS like Contentful is a plus.
• Ability to still get in to the weeds & change code with confidence leading technical direction — this role requires you to balance your managerial focus and technical abilities to fully support the team.
• Strong communicator with a track record of effective collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Deep understanding of best engineering practices, including testing, pair programming, documentation, and code reviews

The Interview Process

• 1st: Initial Chat with Talent Partner to find out more about the role (45 mins via Zoom)
• 2nd: Technical-based Competency Based Interview with the hiring team team (1 hour video via Zoom)
• 3rd: Managerial-focused Competency Based Interview with our People Partner and Product stakeholder (1 hour video via Zoom)
• 4th: Task-based Interview with our Engineering Leadership, including our CTO (1 hour 15 minutes video via Zoom)
• Final: Final interview with our team (45 minutes in our Bratislava office)
