🌍 Remote (U.S.–based, EST preferred) | Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire
Role Overview
Manage a squad of 4-6 engineers, deliver quarterly OKRs, and partner with the CEO on product & platform strategy.
What You’ll Do
- Run sprint rituals, unblock teammates, and uphold engineering SLAs.
- Own architecture reviews, security reviews, and incident response.
- Define coding standards, DORA metrics, and on-call rotations.
- Balance tech-debt vs. velocity; champion continuous refactor culture.
- Hire, onboard, and coach engineers toward seniority milestones.
Must-Haves
- All Senior-Engineer Musts, plus:
- 2+ years leading teams or pods; setting roadmaps & delivery forecasts
- Demonstrated ownership of Next.js 15 edge platform budgets & uptime (99.9%+)
- Experience rolling out org-wide CI policies, branch protections, dependency scanning
- Designed company-wide rate-limiting & caching strategies (Upstash/Redis, edge KV)
- Established usage-based billing meters & observability dashboards (Grafana, Datadog, or Vercel Analytics)
Nice-to-Have
- Driving adoption of Inngest / Trigger.dev across multiple codebases
- Migration leadership (e.g., Postgres → Drizzle + Supabase Edge)
Bonus Points
- Built AISDK-powered features or AI-assisted code-review bots
- Orchestrated long-running idempotent workflows with compensating transactions
- Rolled out cost-analysis tooling (per-request $ cost, edge compute budgets)
