-Summary:
The Civil Planning Engineer will be responsible for the overall scheduling, monitoring, and progress reporting of our civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong civil engineering background, extensive UAE experience, and mastery of planning tools to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
-Key Responsibilities:
- Scheduling & Baseline Management: Develop, update, and maintain detailed Project Baseline Programs, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), activity logic relations, and critical milestones.
- Software Mastery: Utilize Primavera P6 extensively to create, update, and analyze project schedules.
- Progress Reporting: Prepare comprehensive Weekly and Monthly Progress Reports, including S-Curves, Manpower & Equipment Histograms, Gantt charts, and other visual management aids.
- Performance Monitoring: Track physical progress against the approved baseline, identify critical path activities, and flag potential delays with mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Conduct and facilitate regular progress review meetings with site management and project teams to address scheduling conflicts.
- Feasibility & Strategy: Ensure the schedule aligns with the project execution strategy and that contractual milestones are realistic and achievable.
-Requirements & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (Equivalency from the UAE Ministry of Education is preferred).
- Experience: 3 to 8 years of solid experience in the UAE construction market, with a minimum of 5 years dedicated strictly to project planning and scheduling.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Office (Excel).
- Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) sequences, terminology, and critical path method (CPM) logic.
- Cost Control: Basic knowledge or experience in Cost Control/Quantity Surveying is considered a strong advantage.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and collaborative teamwork abilities.
